Accounting Systems Analyst
Prestigious, stable, and growing equity investment firm in DC is expanding its IT staff.
This position will primarily beresponsible for supporting the company’s global accounting systems in the CorporateAccounting Group. The Analyst supportsthe functional management of the company’s accounting systems across seven offices(five internationally) and over 125 users.
The position’s primary objective is toensure all accounting systems are maintained; to develop materials and leadstaff training; to enhance system controls/security to prevent unauthorizedaccess and processing; and to test and implement system enhancements. The Analyst is, at times, a liaison between accountingusers and company’s IT department.
Responsibilities andDuties:
·Responsiblefor the daily operation and maintenance of company’s accounting systemincluding:
·chartof accounts
·securityand access rights
·accountingperiod rollforward
·Respondto requests and inquires from internal users
·Developtraining materials and perform new hire/ongoing training for company’saccounting staff
·Documentaccounting system process/change management for SOX compliance
·Updateand maintain company’s accounts payable forms
·Assistwith control and process improvements related to the accounting system
·Maintaininterface between accounting system and other company systems (i.e. payroll,travel and expense reporting, consolidation software, treasury, etc.)
·Fulfillresponsibilities related to production support as well as application developmentprojects simultaneously
Qualifications:
·MIS/Accountingdegree and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
·1-2years of experience preferred.
·StrongMicrosoft Office skills – Excel, Visio, Word, Access, PowerPoint.
·Fundamentalunderstanding of accounting and IT processes for accounting systems.
·Experiencewith SQL, Crystal Reports and Business Objects preferred.
·Stronginterpersonal and communication skills.
·Demonstratedability to work effectively as part of a team.
·Willingnessto learn and to adjust to a dynamic environment.
