Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) is a leading operator of short line and regional freight railroads in the United States, Canada, Australia and Bolivia. Operations currently include 47 railroads organized in nine regions, as well as service at 12 U.S. ports, contract coal loading and industrial switching. GWI operates more than 5,700 miles of owned and leased track and approximately 3,500 additional miles under track access arrangements.Our revenues are generated primarily from the movement of freight over track owned or operated by our railroads. At the heart of GWI's success is the integration of our railroads into strong regional rail systems. Our subsidiary, Rail Link, provides freight car switching and rail-related services to industrial customers and operates five of our short line railroads. Rail Link railroads serve 12 U.S. ports.Description
Responsibilities:Performs accounts receivable collection activities focusing on items over 90 days while also monitoring accounts with items in the 30 to 60 day period. Identify root cause of issues or problems identified while completing accounts receivable follow up with customers Assist with the development of process/system changes to more effectively manage the accounts receivable collections process Perform detailed accounts receivable financial analysis to assist management decision making Ensure adherence to internal controls
This position is part-time (20 hours per week) and will be for a duration of a 9 to 12 month period.
This position reports to Director of Finance for the NY/PA Region of Genesee & Wyoming Inc.Required Skills
