Associate/Senior Associate, Business Performance Services

We are currently seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to join us in our Washington, DC office. The Business Performance Services (BPS) professionals analyze the way companies conduct and drive business performance both financially and operationally. The services we offer can help companies to improve their processes and systems to mitigate risk, improve performance and grow sustainable value. Our professionals perform reviews, identify and assess opportunities for improvements and bring leading practices and recommendations to clients to help streamline and create more efficient processes within both finance and operations. Responsibilities of Both Positions: * Review and evaluate federal financial statements and transaction flow, financial risk, financial reporting and accounting transactions processes, including internal controls * Prepare financial statements and research accounting and auditing topics * Perform or review account analysis and troubleshooting accounting balance, transaction or process issues * Develop briefing papers based on the results of review containing recommendations for improvement * Apply audit tests to samples of transactions or processes to evaluate internal control environments Additional Responsibilities of Senior Associate Position: * Analyze business processes and assist in developing gap analysis, process flows and recommendations for process improvement related to financial reporting * Supervise and review work performed by other staff and interacting with engagement team on client and team matters Qualifications for Both Positions: * BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or a related discipline * One year of experience providing accounting/financial advisory services to federal entities * Experience in accounting theory and research, and knowledge of the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) * Experience auditing financial statements for a federal or commercial entity, including experience with key federal systems and processes (Fund Balance with Treasury, property accountability, accounts receivable and/or payable, General Ledger) * Active TS SCI with CI or Full Scope Polygraph Additional Qualification for Senior Associate Position: * Three years of experience providing or managing accounting/financial advisory services to federal entities KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
