We are looking for a strong Cost Accounting Manager that will be the key point person on all related cost accounting issues and questions for an international bio-tech organization.  The organization is in heavy growth and has recently filed it's S1 and is going public very soon.  This person will report directly to the Sr. Director of Finance and be hands on in developing and building out the cost functions from establishing policies and procedures to working closely with manufacturing and finance.  Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing setting; preferably with bio-tech experience and in a public company setting.  Salary is very competitive with heavy stock options.

For consideration please apply directly to this posting.Plans studies and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. Analyzes data obtained and records results. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Develops inventory analysis reports and analyzes variances. Verifies accuracy and completeness of data through exception reporting and comparative analysis.  Makes estimates of new and proposed product costs May develop and install manual or computer-based cost accounting system to: Perform advanced cost-accounting work covering material and production costs, costs of sales, research and product development, etc. Compare actual costs to estimates and analyze variances. Develop standard cost data and accurate inventory valuations. Assists in the company’s month-end closing process by providing and analyzing data and reports related to inventory and reconciliation of job cost-related accounts. Conducts special studies and leads various cost savings initiatives.  Based on the results, develops and recommends accounting methods and procedures. Performs other related duties, including but not limited to monthly inventory reconciliations, annual physical inventory oversite, and annual overhead rate development.
