Director of Accounting- Not-for-Profit- High Visibility Position!

The Director of Accounting directs and supervises all accounting functions, including but not limited to government grant accounting, publications cost accounting and analysis, as well as the design and implementation of systems supporting business activities; Supervises and develops a staff of 10-12 accounting and business professionals.Coordinates the preparation of annual financial statements and related external audit.Improves accounting policies and procedures.Reviews annual budget submissions.Promotes strategic plan for the organization.


Requirements includeRequirements for Director of Accounting include CPA and Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related accounting, finance, or equivalent experience, including strong government contracting and understanding of FAR. Familiarity with professional pronouncements, statements and requirements of AICPA, FASB, and OMB; Systems implementation and integration; Understanding of mainframe and network server capabilities, and integration with PC applications; Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with all levels of staffNot-for-Profit, Government Grants,  or OMB background preferred!
