Description:

The Financial Aid Counselor assists future students through the enrollment process by developing rapport while assisting and clarifying various steps in the financial process of becoming an enrolled student.​ This is accomplished by providing clear and accurate information regarding finance options.​ The Financial Aid Counselor works closely via phone appointments with future students to assist with FAFSA filing, to perform needs analysis, and to customize estimated financial plans that best meet the student's needs.​ The Financial Aid Counselor counsels students on all finance options and other matters related directly to the student’s estimated financial plan.​ The Financial Aid Counselor supports the enrollment process by providing solutions to possible issues that may affect the student’s start by identifying challenges, seeking to understand the student’s perspective, and working collaboratively with all other departments to resolve issues.​



Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

* Deliver outstanding customer service to future students
* Conduct, via phone, finance planning appointments with prospective students to perform needs analysis and present funding eligibility for Federal Title IV funds, and other funding options



* Provide a customized estimated financial plan and easily understood financial planning options to the prospective student



* Help determine all funding source options available to a prospective student, including but not limited to financial aid, cash payment options, VA benefits, employer tuition reimbursement



* Assist the prospective student in the timely collection of all required documentation to complete initial financial aid awarding process with prospective student



Qualifications:

* Excellent customer service skills and excellent phone technique



* Excellent communication and follow-up skills



* Organized and highly detailed oriented
