Jr. Financial Analyst
Position Description Title: Jr. Financial Analyst Reports to: Sr. Business Manager Position SummaryAssist Business Managers with the day-to-day operations of all budgetary issues relating to client projects. With guidance and instructions provided by supervisor, the Jr. Financial analyst will promote efficient budgets and other documents related to the Financial Department’s needs. These projects can be comprehensive in nature as well as detailed oriented. ResponsibilitiesContract/Pricing/Actual versus Estimates· Work with the Business Managers to ensure that all projects have an annual and/or project pricing; assist them with monitoring actual results against pricing.· When instructed, review actuals versus estimate on a regular basis to determine what cost have occurred to date. Jobs/E-Time (GHG’s Employee time tracking System)· Regularly review actual hours in Commandpost. Report findings to appropriate Business Managers to determine if reconciliation methods need to be applied.· Run Monthly Utilization Reports for Scientific services, Account Services and Editorial Services. Review with supervisor.· Assist Financial Coordinator at month-end to complete hours transfers· Open job numbers for staff as needed. Financial Meetings/ Reconciliation· Analyze the nature and detail of each project assigned to you to assure that all steps and procedures are accounted for properly within the budgets. Work with teams to define program scope and objectives.· Prepare accurate reconciliations on jobs completed as defined with clients’ contract, and directed by supervisor.· Participate in Financial Checkpoint Meetings and other impromptu financial meetings as requested.· Ensure all jobs, monthly, quarterly and final reconciliations are completed in a timely manner, and review with manager that they are in compliance with contract. Qualifications:Analytical skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Good computer skills – intermediate level in Excel, PowerPoint knowledge, experience with word a plus. Education & Experience: BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management; prior relevant work experience a plus.
