Manager/Senior Manager - State and Local Tax

KPMG's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice needs more members for their Income Franchise team. KPMG's SALT practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients. Responsibilities for both positions: * Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax controversies which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings and preparing protests * Provide multi-state tax advice regarding issues specific to financial organizations * Tax planning * Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax questions * Supervise, mentor and develop staff level team members * Assist with targeted marketing and the management and delivery of SALT services Additional Responsibilities for the Senior Manager: * Oversee and deliver large client project engagements Qualifications for both positions: * Five years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues * Financial services industry experience * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university * Excellent written and verbal communication and tax research skills * Technical proficiency in SALT income/franchise taxation * Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform in a high-energy team environment Additional Qualifications for the Senior Manager: * Eight years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
