Manager,Tax Credits and Incentives
This position is responsible for managing the compliance and generation of federal, state, and local tax credits and incentives for all domestic operations in line with Wal-Mart¿s business strategy. This includes pursuing new credits and incentives for Wal-Mart¿s expanding store and distribution center base and other corporate initiatives (sustainability) and managing the compliance of existing incentives within assigned region. This position involves building strategic alliances across the business.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Divisional Compliance: * File all pertinent compliance documentation and meet all deadlines within assigned division. * Manage and provide timely information to vendors to meet divisional compliance requirements. * Review all current outsourced compliance, recommend and document outsourcing decisions. * Provide audit support by researching issues, gathering documentation, and working with designated auditors within assigned division. * Develop and create a plan of action to better utilize all internal and external resources to efficiently manage the incentives and credit programs within division. * Engage in project management to ensure timely completion of all assignments and projects through managing incentives in various federal, state, and local jurisdictions. * Provide and maintain appropriate documentation for SOX compliance. Vendor Relations and Relationship Building: *Actively participate in building relationships with both outside and internal groups. * Manage vendor and customer expectations and workflow. * Ensure all vendors utilized by assigned division have a legally binding contract prior to performing any type of service. Tax Planning and Legislation: * Seek and secure new tax credits and incentives for ongoing and expanding operations by completing complex grant and credit applications and annual compliance reports. * Actively participate in building relationships with both outside and internal groups. * Research and provide analysis on legislative matters relating to tax credits and incentives regarding the impact of potential law changes to Wal-Mart¿s incentives position. Other Functions: * Participate in meetings with executives and other Tax Department personnel. * Participate in strategy development. * Other tasks as assigned by management. * Negotiate fee arrangements with outside consultants within assigned region, track internal and external expenditures, control expenses, and process consulting invoices. REQUIRED: * Problem solving mind-set. * Strong financial and numeric skills. * Multi-tasking, prioritizing and time management. * Strong negotiation skills. * Good presentation skills. * Management experience. * Good public relations and communication skills. * Ability to make decisions and develop new procedures. * Associate¿s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field. * Two to four years of business or professional experience.PREFERRED ¿ NOT REQUIRED: *Bachelor¿s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related field. * Incentives and credit experience. * Tax experience. * Experience in retail or related industry.
