Manager of Project Accounting

Manager of Project Accounting needed for growing consulting firm in Boca Raton.  This is a new position due to explosive growth! Responsibilities will include: Coordinating activities between corporate project accounting, Regional Business Managers, Contract Administrators and support personnel.  Maintaining systems to ensure the timely and accurate recording of the Company's project control system transactions Reviewing project revenue computations Maintaining accurate project costing information. ·  Supervise Project Accountant and Contract Compliance Analyst in periodic review of project file data to verify conformance with contractual arrangements (i.e., fee type, budget levels, and budget amounts); (ii) aged unbilled charges; and (iii) effort expended in excess of budgeted amounts;·  Ensuring the accuracy of the project accounting associated with the Company’s job costing system, including labor charges, other direct costs, and unit pricing transactions.  ·  Manage the rollout of enhanced systems functionality;·  Provide advice and counsel to Accounting and Finance Management as requested·  Perform any special assignments when directed; and·  Perform related work as required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years managing staff as well as directing and coordinating the project maintenance and invoicing processes for a professional services firm Bachelors degree from an accredited college with a major in accounting or finance. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, operating computer systems, accounting software, peripherals and other business machines.  Extensive experience and knowledge in management, project job costing, contract file administration, and financial analysis.  Experience with Crystal reporting, Web-based and Windows-based software applications and other data entry processes. Salary:  $65,000 - $75,000  LisaGoodman@mergisgroup.com Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
