MISSION AND SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Practice Development Consultant helps support Financial Advisors first entering the 1st Global system as well as advisors that have been in the system and want to move to a higher level and grow their business in a new direction. The Consultant assists them in growing their financial services practice through an introduction to the tools and resources of 1st Global, such as the Practice Development Index, a weekly coaching call to introduce Financial Services, and the monthly Practice Development web cast series, among other things. The Consultant holds the advisor accountable for activities that will grow the wealth management business.

DEPARTMENT
The Practice Development Group helps independent Financial Advisors through their first year of building a financial services business by guiding them through the four critical areas of financial services (marketing, sales, operations, and administration). “Independent” Financial Advisor is defined as a sole practitioner or member of a firm who is the actual Wealth Management Advisor. The Practice Development Group also assists advisors that are experienced in financial services and are looking to move to a higher level of production in addition to individuals that do not have production and want to improve.

The Practice Development Group is divided into regions to enable the Practice Development Consultant the ability to build a solid relationship and provide one-on-one support.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
All responsibilities are generally performed on a daily basis, unless otherwise noted. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in initial introductory call with a newly-affiliated Financial Advisor, led by the Business Development Consultant.
• Set up a weekly telephone conference with the Financial Advisor, during which the Consultant will introduce new Financial Advisors to 1st Global by guiding them through a step by step program and through the process of implementing wealth management services into their existing accounting practice.
• Coach new firms in navigation of Financial Advisor website and structure of 1st Global.
• Decrease “start up” time of new advisors
• Assist Financial Advisors on incoming calls with issues pertaining to their practice.
• Aid experienced Financial Advisors in moving to the next level
• Present to Financial Advisors in Matrix training and other 1st Global educational events, such as National Conference or Eagles Executive Forum.
• Meet all internal Pivotal and Quality Assurance standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as team member on WMS Website and Global Horizons article schedule.
• May be called on to help train new employees.
• Serve as back up team member to Financial Consulting Group on investment portfolio strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have general to advanced knowledge of the wealth management process, marketing, and general broker-dealer operations.
• One to three years of experience in direct sales in the financial services industry with a customer service focus.
• Three to five years of business experience.
• Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses and The Life, Accident and Health Insurance license. Series 24 within 90 days of hire
• College degree required with preferred emphasis in Wealth Management or Finance.
• Experience with the accounting profession helpful.
• The Consultant will be required to continue education within the industry by pursuing additional licensing, designations, etc., as defined by the Manager.

SKILLS
• Must have strong analytical skills.
• Must have excellent telephone manner.
• Must be able to build and maintain long-term relationships with 1st Global advisors.
• Must demonstrate strong working rapport with others.
• Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs independently
• Must have strong computer skills, including expert proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Experience with Principia Pro or Morningstar Advisor Workstation and Streetscape® desirable.
