Revenue Accountant

Our client, an innovative leader in their field is seeking a qualified Revenue Accountant with 5+ years of progressively responsible general ledger/accounting experience.Main Responsibilities: Analyze revenue reports and reconcile with bank settlement reports. Work with IT group to improve revenue reporting. Perform regular audit/ testing for accuracy of all revenue, including deferred revenue. Identify revenue report variance reasons and work with IT to resolve the issues. Identify revenue related system changes and upgrades and work with IT to maintain data integrity for all revenue related reports. Accurately track the daily credit card receivable process for all credit card transactions and new forms of payment using daily settlement files, reconciliation of amounts received vs. amounts submitted, credit card holdbacks, In-flight entertainment system transactions, and refunds on credit card transactions. Record daily and monthly revenue accruals, estimates and any other sales/revenue cycle transactions to ensure accurate financial reporting. These include but are not limited to sales, affiliate sales, partner agreements, contracts, other revenue, cash collected, credit card receivables, daily credit card receipts, credit file changes, refunds, and revenue earned reports. Reconciliation of revenue and related balance sheet accounts which includes but not limited to credit card receivable, deferred revenue, and gift card revenue  Research and propose solutions for revenue recognition issues. Help develop and implement processes and controls to help increase efficiencies and reduce costs. Assist in establishing procedures to ensure that accounting properly records and report new revenue streams.Requirements Include: 4-6 years of progressively responsible general ledger/accounting experience Strong analytical and problem solving skills Detailed and results driven Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP BS/BA in Accounting or Finance related field Great Plains, G/L module Ability to think 'outside the box,' identify areas of improvement, and develop time-saving solutions Ability to work independently in assigned areas both within and outside finance.
