Senior Accountant - Growing Firm (JL)

Our client, a prestigious international Private Equity firm with headquarters in Washington DC is in need of a Senior Accountant. Outstanding compensation, benefits, and ideal location in downtown Washington.   RESPONSIBILITIES:·  Coordinate preparation of all monthly and annual financial statements·  Maintain the general ledger for entities·  Review general ledger and post adjusting journal entries·  Prepare monthly account reconciliations·  Prepare monthly bank reconciliations a·  Prepare monthly financial statements·  Prepare detailed schedules of partners’ capital·  Follow up on all outstanding accounts receivable items·  Coordinate preparation of annual audits ·  Prepare audit workpapers and financial statements·  Ensure compliance with all DC reporting requirements·  Prepare deal expense reconciliation and submit to portfolio companies (quarterly)·  Prepare proof of cash for each fund (monthly)·  Prepare quarterly interest billing for participants in the LOC·  LP tax exempt status review (W-8s)·  Maintain and update fixed assets ledger·  Assist Controller with yearly insurance renewals·  Update insurance summary and maintain insurance files Securities·  Prepare monthly custodian reconciliations·  Update Stock certificate ledger as needed Administrative·Maintain firm and fund files (Industry reviews, best practices, pink sheets) Deals – General·  Work with deal teams as requested·  Respond to information requests for Thayer materials and information Deal Closing·  Assist deal teams as they prepare to close a deal Portfolio Companies·  Point of contact for portfolio companies·  Coordinates internal quarterly portfolio metrics for presentation in deal meeting SEC Compliance·  Prepare and organize information as necessary for SEC examinationsInvestor Reporting·  Prepare exhibits for annual and quarterly reports to limited partners·  Review quarterly report to limited partners ·  Review annual report to limited partners  Capital Call/Distribution Notices·  Assemble all information necessary to call capital from partners and co-investors·  Prepare capital call notice to limited partners·  Email notification to partners·  Ensure receipt of all funds·  Track wires for capital calls and distributions·  Issue Winston/Thayer capital call and distribution notices  Investor Relations·  Respond to all limited partner requests for financial information  QUALIFICATIONS:·  4-8 years of public accounting experience·  BS in Accounting or Finance with a 3.0+ GPA·  Financial services experience a plus·  CPA or CPA Candidate Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
