Senior Accountant and A/P Supervisor

Hythiam currently offers initial disease management offerings for substance dependence that integrate medical and behavioral treatments, including its proprietary PROMETA® Treatment Program for alcoholism and dependence to stimulants. The PROMETA Treatment Program, which integrates behavioral, nutritional, and medical components, is available through licensed treatment providers.

Role:

The Senior Account and A/P Supervisor will assist with month end close, financial statement analysis, balance sheet P&L analysis, and track and analyze intangible property and legal costs.  Responsible for coordinating with vendors and management to ensure accurate and timely legal accruals.  Supervise cash management processes; ensure timely posting of cash transactions.  Assist with proposing and implementing internal controls and procedures.  Participate in audits. Prepare SEC support schedules and periodic technical research.

Will also directly supervise one A/P Accountant and have overall responsibility for A/P function.

Responsibilities:General Accounting: Monthly close and account analysis and reconciliations.  Responsibilities include fixed assets, cash management, international accounting and legal accruals.Periodic Sarbanes 404 procedures. State and local tax filings, government reporting.Review A/P batches, check run and A/P close.Review new vendor log and update contact list.Contact vendors for accruals.Re-class A/P vouchers to prepaid, post prepaid insurance. Post prepaid rent and all vendor accrual.Reconciliation and posting of all P-Card accounts. 

Education and Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.Minimum of 4 years of financial experience required, heavy exposure to accounts payable process with direct supervisory experience.Very sound written and verbal communications skills.MS Word and Excel at a minimum of intermediate level.Reconciliation, analysis and report writing skills.Public company and healthcare experience helpful but not mandatory.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, corporate accounting environment.
