Position Description:
Kelmar is looking to continue their growth and hire more Senior Associates in several locations throughout the U.S. (in Wakefield, MA, Chadds Ford, PA, Morristown, NJ, and Sherman Oaks, CA.) We are seeking candidates who are team players, who will be responsible for reviewing and organizing financial documents/information related to an audit. A Senior Associate will gather and analyze financial data and employ analytical and statistical skills in the examination of the accounting records of companies. They will participate in audit related meetings and conference calls, will document the discussion points, and will be responsible for action items. As part of the documentation process, a Senior Associate is responsible for drafting memoranda for each stage of an audit, preparation of audit schedules, researching audit issues and documenting research results, as well as, preparing audit status reports on a bi-weekly basis.
The ideal candidate is someone who has public accounting and/or internal audit experience. The candidate is also a very detailed-oriented individual that would possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to prioritize and manage assignments, have the ability to work within a team environment, and be able to delegate data entry and administrative tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop an understanding of the Kelmar’s audit approach, methodology & tools
• Interfacing with team-members and management
• Establish working relationships with client personnel, third party “holder,” and firms being audited
• Perform analytical review of audit documents
• Identify accounting and auditing issues; perform research to solve issues that arise
• Prepare reports and documentation supporting Kelmar’s audit results
• Provide recommendations for improved controls and enhanced business efficiency
· Work with Data Entry Specialist on
§ Analytical review of data in database, Maintain applications in database, Review of entered data and critical fields
· Recognize and reconcile discrepancies
· Problem-resolution
· Special projects as needed
· Exhibit a professional, business-like demeanor
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science/Business Administration, Finance or Accounting degree 3+ years of accounting/auditing experience Experience dealing with accounting records (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Project Management experience Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks, works on multiple assignments, and manages ambiguity Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels Willingness to travel for out-of-town engagements
