Senior IT Specialist, Federal Advisory Services

The Advisory Services team strives to help the federal government improve on both regulatory demands and their strategic approach to performance and risk management. Advisory professionals are able to provide relevant industry and functional skills where they need them most. We are currently seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to join us in our Washington, DC office. IT Advisory Services (ITA) professionals assess, design, and combine leading information management and operational processes, approaches, technologies, and controls to help enable sustained business value and risk management in support of the business. Information Technology (IT) organizations and their leaders often need a business focus that helps enable them to better organize and prioritize their IT investments based on factors including business value created, return on investments, and management of risk. Responsibilities for both positions: * Leverage current and past relationships to find, identify, create, qualify, strategize and win new, incremental engagements and contracts in select civilian agencies, either directly with the agency or as a subcontractor to a prime contractor * Collaborate with the KPMG team to build a pipeline quickly for work in the federal civilian market * Deliver IT or business management solutions to federal clients * Maintain broad and deep relationship base with key clients who buy IT and business management services in the federal market * Lead multiple projects, developing and managing project plans, manage multiple work streams, identify and solve problems, including leading and mentoring staff, helping to ensure effective team communications and communicating with clients and management Additional responsibility for Senior Manager: * Lead the planning and account management activities in target agencies, including developing account penetration plans and strategies Qualifications for both positions: * BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university * Eligible to obtain a security clearance within a reasonable amount of time. Obtaining clearance may include being subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. * Previous experience selling services to federal or civilian agencies *Ten years of progressive experience in the IT field *Six years IT or program management experience in large scale complex projects *Four years of experience with systems integrations *Solid understanding of civilian agency IT and business management trends, issues, upcoming opportunities, procurement approaches and prime contractor landscape *Previous experience in a client delivery role including building and managing successful client relationships at various levels *Previous experience in developing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences at multiple organizational levels *Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills *Experience with major acquisitions, software development or technology management desired *Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired Additional qualifications for Senior Manager: * Significant experience providing IT Advisory services to federal entities * Significant experience selling services to federal or civilian agencies KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
