Fisher Investments is looking for a dynamic leader with broad and deep expertise on various hardware and infrastructure software platforms. This person will be responsible for helping to define and implement the roadmap for the hardware and infrastructure software platforms that the Information Technology (IT) Department uses to support the firm, be aware of existing and new technology and its capabilities and limitations, and assist in the development of the disaster recovery strategy. The Senior Infrastructure Architect must combine an understanding of short and long term trade-offs, mix business and technical needs, and facilitate and guide discussions between the business and IT. The Senior Infrastructure Architect will work closely with the Vice Presidents of IT, Project Management, and Senior Management to shape the future direction of Fisher Investments' infrastructure.
 

Responsibilities:
• Driving Architectural Committee meetings, making architectural recommendations, and developing strategic plans.
• Reviewing and assessing impact of future technology changes
• Developing enterprise architecture artifacts including current architecture and target architecture for projects.
• Documenting and developing technical vision, strategy and implementation plans
• Setting the strategy and standards for the technology hardware, operating system, infrastructure software, and tools used within Fisher to develop applications.
• Developing solutions for complex infrastructure problems
• Leading technical initiatives
• Advising management on technical issues including providing quantitative analysis of different solutions
• Serving as a mentor for other members of the infrastructure team
• Assisting in creating standards and necessary policies and procedures


 

Qualifications:
• Ability to understand and design end to end technical architecture solutions in a large diverse environment
• Practical Infrastructure and application development experience
• BA/BS in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 12+ years in System, network or data center administration
• Significant experience serving as a team and/or technical lead in a mid to large sized IT organization.
• Ability to make clear, persuasive presentations to senior management
• Expert design skills
• Expert knowledge of systems security
• Experience developing standards and methodology for IT systems.
• Expert in server and network operating systems and concepts.
