Senior Tax Manager

This position provides a great opportunity for the individual who is seeking a supportive and strong team environment to grow both technical and managerial skills.

 The right candidate must have a solid and proven technical proficiency of FAS 109 with profitable publicly traded companies. The candidate will prepare/review the tax rate projections, quarterly and annual income tax provisions. Additional responsibilities include preparing/reviewing the accruals, analysis and reconciliation of the deferred taxes, tax payable, provision to return true ups and drafting of income tax related disclosures for SEC filings. The candidate will be responsible for the FAS 123R calculation, FIN 48 documentation, fixed asset deferred testing and update and maintain SOX documentation.The candidate will also review/assist in the preparation of the U.S. federal, state and local income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions and maintain the tax return software with the assistance of staff members.The candidate will also oversee the property tax and annual reports functions with the assistance of the property tax accountant.The candidate will also assist in research and planning projects in all tax areas. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, producing consistent high quality work products. The candidate will supervise one tax team member and reports to the Tax Director.


Minimum Requirements: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required. Masters degree in tax is preferred. Minimum of 9-12 years with Big 4 accounting firms and/or a corporate tax department. Must have a strong technical knowledge of FAS 109. Strong Excel and Access system skills are desired. Experience with RIA Insource Software desired. The candidate must have strong written skills along with the ability to write technical tax memos.The successful candidate must be secure working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, capable of handling multiple tasks, possess excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills able to work independently and be extremely flexible. The candidate must be proactive in knowledge sharing and training of junior members of the team.The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter who takes ownership of projects and has the ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities. The candidate must be able to collaborate cross-functionally on complex issues and drive results in a timely manner. The candidate will be required to work closely with various levels of management, auditors and accounting personnel as a member of our corporate finance department.Retail industry experience a plus.
