The Role

The Senior Warranty Receivables Analyst is an important liaison between Global Business Services (GBS) Warranty Receivables and Best Buy’s internal business teams and external warranty vendors.​ Responsibilities include understanding the end to end claims process and driving results by ensuring vendor compliance on warranty receivables due and the proper administration of the claims collection process.​ Responsibilities also include driving resolution of our business partner’s discrepancies and to ensure timely and compliant resolution to all issues.​ This position is key to continual process improvement that will lead to improved revenue recognition.​



Responsibilities



Business Partnership

Role requires cross-functional team interaction to drive an expected business outcome.​ Knowledge of warranty receviables business, excellent written and oral communication skills, maintains good relationship with internal and external customers; manages customer expectations, good negotiation and facilitation skills, work as a liaison and understand claims recovery system processes.​
Participate in vendor negotiations when needed by providing financial expertise to the business team, as well as providing a broader business perspective.​
Act as a liaison between the business team and other finance partners on accounting issues.​ (Solid understanding of financial accounting, particularly related to revenue recognition and reconciliation.​)



Financial Analysis

Provides analytical, statistical and root cause analysis to understand, make recommendations, and solve problems related to processing and supplier non-compliance issues.​
Proactively review receivable aging for financial risk and to identify appropriate reserves.​ Identify, assess, and communicate risks associated with processes, warranty receivables initiatives and projects.​



Reporting

Responsible for monthly metrics reporting and analysis to the business to track against stated GBS goals.​ Included in this is the ability to trend results and proactively find and eliminate obstacles preventing desired results.​



Subject Matter Expert

Provide Warranty subject matter expertise for all system enhancements and process improvement efforts.​ This includes the ability to provide detailed process information and tactical support to a wide range of projects through group participation as well as providing all required procedural documentation and process flows.​



Requirements



All requirements are based on 3-5 plus years of experience and include, but are not limited to the following:

Finance and/​or Accounting experience
Intermediate level in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, etc
Lean Six Sigma – Preferred

Education

Bachelors Degree (Preferably in Accounting or Business Administration)
