Detailed Job Description:
Works on software development initiatives of moderate to high scope/complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action. Responsible for contributing to the completion of specific programs, projects and commitments established for the work unit while operating under the general direction of a manager. Requires specific knowledge of software development discipline differentiated by skills, education, experience, level of complexity and degree of autonomy. Typically requires 6+ years of related experience with a BS degree; 4-6 years experience with an MS.

Skill Sets / Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Experience in .NET using either VB.NET or C #
- Familiarity with client/server architectures
- Experience with COM
- Experience with Oracle 10g and 11g
- Full understanding of both 2-tier and 3-tier software product architectures and their impact on debugging and performance
- Ability to help design and build (code) database-related Windows Forms applications and utilities using Microsoft VB.NET and/or C#
- Working knowledge of XML, XSD schemas, and basic XSL transforms
- Minimum 4 years experience working with and programming for SQL Server, Oracle, or similar database platforms in a commercial environment

Additional Skills:
- XML Parsing and manipulation in .NET
- Some familiarity with the Telecommunications Industry (terms/equipment/processes) including fiber chains
- Any familiarity with ESRI and Telcordia Network Engineer is a big plus
