Tax Supervisor
FactSet is currently seeking an experienced tax professional for its headquarter operations. The position reports to the Vice President and Global Director of Tax Planning and Compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing federal, international, and state income and franchise tax compliance and reporting obligations and will have a key role in assisting in federal and state audits. This opportunity also requires an active role in addressing the company’s transfer pricing documentation requirements, handling ad-hoc tax issues as they arise, and coordinating day-to-day services provided by FactSet’s advisors. Job Responsibilities · Maintain a tax calendar of required domestic and international compliance prepared for all direct and indirect taxes (including property taxes) for 25 FactSet entities Prepare federal consolidated tax return and state income and franchise tax returns, including tax work papers and input to Vertex software Serve as day-to-day liaison with KPMG local offices to ensure timely preparation of international returns and efficient handling of ongoing tax matters Monitor effective tax rates and FAS 109 impact on a quarterly basis for financial reporting, including preparing supporting documentation for use with external auditors to support federal, state, and foreign tax provisions Obtain and demonstrate a working knowledge of historical tax positions for FactSet’s global income tax returns Work closely with Comptrollers department to ensure availability of related accounting data in support of both domestic and international tax requirements Prepare quarterly and annual tax disclosures for SEC reporting Prepare 5471s for annual reporting, EIE, and FTC work papers and documentation Prepare state sales, property, and payroll apportionment factors to support FactSet’s tax filings Assist with federal and state audits including supporting the Tax VP to monitor progress and coordinate with KPMG local office Ensure all documentation required involving inter-company transfer-pricing is well maintained and monthly accounting follows such agreements Review and evaluate FactSet payroll withholding tax practices related to compensation and option exercises by foreign country Assist Tax VP on issues that arise in the day-to-day operations Job RequirementsThis position is suitable for an independent, organized self-starter who doesn’t require close supervision. The candidate should possess first-rate communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work under tight deadlines and make decisions quickly. Strong tax research and writing skills are essential. · 3-5 years experience consisting of a combination of public accounting and industry tax experience· Federal, foreign, state, and local knowledge tax knowledge Highly Desired· CPA and Masters of Tax · AACTS/Vertex experience or some type of tax reporting package experience · Strong Computer Skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Vertex FactSet is a leading provider of global financial and economic information.
