Description of Duties:The incumbent receives and processes over-the-counter payments from customers. Safeguards cash and negotiable instruments. Processes payments received from other branches in the departments. Validates receipts collected. Examines all currency for counterfeits. Reconciles daily checks and cash received over-the-counter and prepares deposits slips. Interact directly with the customers to direct and assists in handling their claims. Draft and types reports, memo’s etc. Complies with applicable safety rules and regulations. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the supervisor, Cash Receipts.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) cerificate and three (3) years of related experience.Skills in the use of cash accountability control methods.Skills in accurately and rapidly handling large sums of currency.Skills in reviewing, balancing, and reconciling.Knowledge of and ability to use personal computer.Knowledge of and ability to use personal computer.Knowledge of applicablesoftware programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, etc.).Other Requirements:In the event that an offer is extended, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening. First time supervisors and all new D.C. Water and Sewer Authority employees will serve a one (1) year probationary period regardless of prior governmental affiliation. Skill test required.
