Whether a company is engaged in a merger or acquisition, maintaining compliance with multi-jurisdictional business transactions, or streamlining multi-national supply chain, Deloitte Tax's international tax professionals concentrate efforts on international compliance, research, consulting and planning issues.   Deloitte Tax's International Value Added Tax (VAT) practice is a national specialty practice within our International Tax practice.  Managers have in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They must be familiar with the tax consulting process and the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, development and implementation of clients' tax needs. In addition, they direct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies and perform tax reviews.  Successful candidates will have an opportunity to concentrate efforts on a variety of international VAT compliance, research, consulting and planning issues. Their role involves advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations.  They are also responsible for supervising assignments by Consultants and Seniors and will provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.  They have proven extensive technical expertise and have developed their reputation within the field of indirect taxes. - Five or more years of general tax experience, preferably with at least 3 years focused on Indirect Taxes, including VAT, Goods and Services Tax, Sales Tax, Business Tax and similar transaction taxes. Experience with an accountancy firm (whether Big 4 or otherwise), consultancy practice, law firm, or large tax department of a multinational company is required. - Consulting and compliance indirect tax experience is needed; experience in dealing with indirect tax in accounting /ERP systems is desirable. - A proven track record with handling indirect tax issues, regulations, disputes, audits and rulings is preferred. - Excellent research skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills are a must; we are looking for good team players who are preparedto travel to support the national practice and their international clients. - Strong project management, co-ordination and presentation skills are required. - Prior supervisory experience is also mandatory. - A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field is required; an advanced degree such as MST, JD or LLM is preferred.  Qualification in indirect taxes is preferred, as are those with US CPA or equivalent national / local accountancy qualifications About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
