General Manager
Trout Lake Farm, a division of Access Business Group (ABG), one of the Alticor family of companies, is committed to the production of high quality cost-competitive botanicals through ecologically and socially responsible farming practices. Trout Lake Farm, based near the Columbia Gorge in southern Washington state, has a combined 700 acres of farmland where it grows and processes dried certified-organic herbs to serve our more than 200 business customers. Trout Lake Farm employs approximately 25 people, plus additional seasonal crew of over 100.
We are looking for a General Manager capable of driving innovative growth. Business-to-business (B2B) sales have doubled from $5 million to $10 million over the past two years, by leveraging assets of Trout Lake Farm with other ABG farming, manufacturing, and technology resources in Mexico, Brazil, and California. The successful candidate will identify new opportunities, develop strategies & proposals, and implement tactics that drive profitable growth. The new General Manger will be challenged to double sales to $20 million over the next 4 years.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading skilled farming, manufacturing, sales, office, and support personnel at its two farming and manufacturing sites near Trout Lake and Ephrata, Washington.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proven leader who:Is networked in the food ingredient or related industry, with a strong sales background. Ideally, the candidate actively participates in at least one industry organization such as Organic Trade Association or International Food Technology. Regularly applies financial analysis and tools in decision-making to ensure business profitability and expected return on capital investment Is passionate about organics and sustainable farming.Is a good communicator; coaching employees, collaborating with other ABG resources, and negotiating with customers.Has an entrepreneurial spirit, looks for growth opportunities, applies good judgment, and takes risks.
Must have a Business Degree and 5 plus years of applicable experience. Must be willing to relocate to Portland or Columbia Gorge area.
