Translator

Job Purpose:

Facilitates communication by translating text. To ensure Hispanic associates understand what is expected from them concerning all aspects of their job and company policies and procedures.

Duties:

* Prepares for translation by studying text to be translated; researching subject matter.

* Translates text by understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating cultural influences; consulting dictionaries, thesauri, and references; conferring with colleagues; explaining the thought in target language.

* Evaluates interpretation/translation by reviewing clarity and grammar; making adjustments in meaning as necessary.

* Prepares translation by dictating or keying translated text.

* Verifies translation by proofreading translated text.

* Updates job knowledge by reading publications in the source language; participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications:

* Must be able to translate English material to Spanish.

* Must be able to work with supervision in teaching and training Hispanic associates in regards to safety procedures,orientation,company policies, etc.
