Come and be a part of the most exciting team in broadcasting.  Advanced Broadcast Solutions is recruiting for a person to join a team of dedicated broadcast professionals committed to creating the newest, most unique, and best solutions for our broadcast customers.  ABS is based in Washington State and serves most of the United States domestic broadcasters.

 

This position is for a Project Engineer to be part of the ABS Design team.  The team is responsible for design and development of unique broadcast systems to enable our customers to deliver content to their audiences using the best technologies available.  The position involves working closely with sales, designers, Project Engineers and project managers.The responsibilities of this position are focused on development support of ABS unique broadcast integration projects.  Responsibilities also include creation of accurate design documentation for the support of the Production group including specification and design implementation details, clarification of design requirements, and debugging of the design. Knowledge of broadcasting operations and engineering is a must.  Knowledge of broadcast media types, their development issues and their differences is highly desired.  Experience with electronic design using electrical AutoCad ™ and the impacts to production, are necessary for success.This position requires the ability to quickly learn, analyze and implement new ideas, break down complex issues and collaborate across cross functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. Must be able to plan work, and work to a plan adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving environment.Qualifications: Minimum BS/MS in Broadcast Engineering or related experience. A solid understanding of core engineering principles, broadcast design and analysis is required. Must contribute solutions to group brainstorming sessions that will accelerate the design/sales process. Must have good knowledge of the SMPTE and ANSI Codes, Standards and Specifications to provide designs adequate to meet customer requirements. Must have strong communication skills and must be able to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.

 

Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for managing projects to include creation of Project Charters, Gantt charts, customer relations, project schedules, vendor coordination, and coordination of build in place or build to deliver. You will be responsible for the accuracy of all new drawings made by the Director of Engineering. These new or revised drawings are the result of a new BOM or an Engineering Change Notice (ECN). Evaluates design change requests and takes appropriate action to change the required drawings, writes the required, and posts the new drawings to ABS Forum. Manages or maintains the production website by updating information and data required due to design changes and marketing information requests. Provide guidance and support to management and sales regarding new products and systems. Provide support to the Sales Department in helping answer customer/Sales Rep questions and inquiries. Provide support to Fulfillment Department in helping solve problems in component installation, wire and connector types, power distribution, RF and IP transmission requirements, and other requests as required. Provide support to Purchasing/Materials Departments in helping with vendor questions and inquiries. Provide support to the Marketing Department by proofreading product literature. Prepare needed dimensional drawings, assembly drawings, or special instructions needed to ship an order.

Domestic travel may be required.
