IS Support Tech
The Information Support department at United Hospital System is seeking a dedicated IS Support Tech to join our expanding team. This is a great full time opportunity.
Responsibilities for the IS Support Tech will include:
· Fielding incoming help requests from end users via telephone, e-mail and help request formats in a courteous manner;
· Escalating problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician or engineer;
· Installing and troubleshooting various software as directed by the Director of Information Services;
· Applying diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting end user issues;
· Assisting Network Engineers in the installation and setup of new networks and software applications;
· Replacing / fixing existing older hardware throughout the facilities;
· Testing fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved; and
· Seeking to improve existing documentation and or procedures.
Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of basic computer hardware, including HP desktops, laptops, and printers. Experience with desktop operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP. Familiarity with applications and utilities such as; Windows Registry, Symantec Ghost, Active Directory, and Novell Netware 6.5, and restricted end-user environments. Strong written and oral communication skills. Keen attention to detail with strong documentation and administration skills. Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self motivated and directed. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Associates Degree or 2-3 years of equivalent work experience. Certifications desirable.
