Level 3 Desktop Support Consultant

Omni Resources, Inc. in 1984 is dedicated to providing the highest quality information technology consulting services throughout the upper Midwest.  We are currently seeking an experienced 3rd Level Desktop Support to work with our client in Milwaukee, WI. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:Systems support and small project activity. Support and small project work would include but not be limited to participating in on-call rotation, firefighting,  consulting, and completing all phases of software development (estimating, requirements gathering, designing, developing, implementing. and creating documentation deliverables). Acquires and maintains in-depth knowledge of one or more functional/business systems or applications. Works closely with customer representatives to define application solutions that meet business needs. Communicates application requirements to project team members. Completes high level designs for new or existing systems. Identifies critical dependencies of the system. Provides business and application consultation for project and support teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERINCE Experienced Application Analyst Strong application/business analysis, technical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients Experience in: client server environment, i.e. JAVA, UNIX, Perl, Javascript, XML, MQSeries and Websphere a plus Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to business problems Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and to work in a team environment Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills Ability to bridge between the business and IS required Experience translating business requirements into system requirements preferred Strong analysis and problem solving skills Minimum of 2 years Java J2EE development experience preferred. High degree of initiative and self-motivation, self-starter Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision Experience with Service Management processes (incident, problem, knowledge, change) preferred WEB environment knowledge desirable Experience in supporting and maintaining intranet applications preferred. JavaUNIXPerlJavaScriptXMLMQSeriesWebSphere
