Senior Systems Admin - Northern Virginia
Job Description:
Our client, a cutting edge telecom company in Northern Virginia is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator who possesses strong Windows skills along with additional experience in Unix. The candidate will play a role in the design and development of the companies systems, will be responsible for updates, upgrades and audits, and will contribute towards the research of new technologies.
Requirements:
Ten (10) or more years experience as a System Administrator with focus on UNIX and Windows.
Senior UNIX administration using IBM AIX/UNIX, IBM P5 and P6 Virtualization, VIO, experience with system/security Architect, Solaris 10 with virtualization
Windows administration with focus on Windows 2003/8/10 server environments. Expertise in mail/exchange servers, web servers, Active Directory management/configuration, Symantec Netbackup for backend servers, etc
Expertise in installation, configuration, operating system hardening, performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting on Unix (AIX/Solaris/Linux)
Expertise in patching, tuning, troubleshooting Windows server environments
Good experience in SAN attached storage using native multi-pathing and Veritas.
Extensive systems management and design experience having administered a heterogeneous network of UNIX servers and PC workstations.
Experience with entire Veritas product suite (file system, volume management, database extensions, NetBackup, DLO, Enterprise Vault)
