Software Developer (C#, VB.NET)
A privately-owned company founded in 2004, AlertPay is a rapidly growing leader in online payment solutions. The service provides individuals and businesses with the ability to send and receive payments online without exposing their personal information.
As part of a project team, the Software Developer actively participates in all stages of the software development lifecycle (Design, Develop, Maintain, and Test). The Software Developer also interacts with all aspects of the application, from the SQL server level to the UI level. Software Developers are expected to have passion for programming and applying object oriented architecture and design methodologies.
Responsibilities include developing and testing complex programs/modules according to specific business and design requirements in an efficient and accurate manner in order to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.

Design web applications
Collaborate with business analysts as well as product and project managers to gather and define requirements
Evaluate and perform design tradeoffs regarding the architecture and software components
Conceptualize an approach to assigned tasks, ensuring scalability of design
Review code of new and existing features to re-use components created
Develop application code
Manage database (i.e.: tables, stored procedures, functions, etc.)
Code different application layers (i.e.: database, business logic, web, etc.)
Ensure UI is appropriate and follows style guide
Maintain application code
Find and repair software defects
Optimize existing code to meet new requirements and cope with a changing environment
Write and maintain programming documentation
Test application code
Ensure software meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development
Ensure software works as expected and can be implemented with the same characteristics
Required skills and abilities

Technical
Strong understanding of the .NET 3.5 framework
Hands on experience with both VB .NET and C#
Excellent knowledge of ASP .NET
Fluent in SOAP, XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX
Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe and Visual Studio Team System
In depth knowledge of object oriented programming and design patterns
Good knowledge of SQL server 2008, including constructing SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimization techniques
Experience / Education
3-5 years of experience as a Software Developer or Engineer or equivalent
BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
