Controls Engineer III

UEC serves the aerospace, military, industrial, and commercial markets by providing comprehensive product design, system integration, and vertically integrated manufacturing solutions including: hardware, software, and mechanical engineering; rapid prototyping; and a broad range of product assembly and test.​ Our product mix includes electronic controls, power distribution, vehicle integration, automated systems, circuit card assembly, cable assembly, and complex electromechanical devices.​

UEC seeks an experienced Controls Engineer III to provide high-level engineering support to organization.​

Primary duties may include:
• Design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery throughout entire product development phase (product launch to full implementation and field operation)
• Proactively communicate as principal liaison with customer(s) to ensure technical expectations are continuously satisfied
• Responsible for leading and/​or supporting design & development activities such as:
- Process and sequential control system hardware design
- Process and sequential control system PLC and HMI programming
- PC based data acquisition hardware selection and programming
- Motion control and robotics systems applications and programming
- Machine and process control system diagnostics and repair
- Automated test systems design and programming
• Support projects/​programs independently at various customer locations
• May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
• May supervise, lead and/​or direct the work of assigned technicians

General requirements :
• Bachelors of Science degree in engineering or related discipline
• A minimum of six (6) years directly related technical/​engineering experience
• Ability to prioritize, organize work and meet deadlines
Technical requirements :
• Thorough Understanding and Practical Application:
- PC Based Software - Visual Basic, C+​+​ or similar
- Networking - LAN, WIFI
- PLC Software - Allen Bradley and/​or Siemens
- Data Acquisition SW - National Instruments: LabView &/​or LabWindows CVI
- 2D CAD - AutoCAD or equivalent
Candidates should have some experinence with :
- Process and sequential control system hardware design
- Process and sequential control system PLC and HMI programming
- PC based data acquisition hardware selection and programming
- Motion control and robotics systems applications and programming
- Machine and process control system diagnostics and repair
- Automated test systems design and programming
