Manufacturing Estimator

UEC seeks an experienced Estimator III to provide administrative product realization support to the organization.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with engineers and vendors in the development and validation of labor, material and subcontract estimates for various types of assemblies and systems. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Production Tooling, AS9100/ISO9001 compliance and those with experience in complex assembly and test (to include wire/cable, fiber optics, box builds and rack integration).


Primary duties include:
• Responsible for all aspects of complete costs analysis for new product introduction to Operations, Product Realization, and new work instructions including clarification of customer requirements.
• Manage, direct and coordinate activities between affected departments in the development and validation of labor, material and subcontract estimates/quotes/proposals/analyses for various opportunities.
- Includes evaluation of RFQ's (RFP, RFI, etc) to ensure content comprehension, feasibility and requirements with regard to cost, delivery and customer expectations; participates in bid/no-bid decision.
- Includes complete costs analysis & documentation from customer concept through product realization & functional development of various products & services including: electrical/electronic components & complex systems, high-mix/low-volume electromechanical manufacturing, advanced & automated technologies and integrated systems. • Responsible for quoting accuracy, detail & content.
• Identify and investigate any disparity in capabilities and/or cost variances.
• Responsible for final review and release of quote packages to contracts department.
• Provides direct customer interface.
• Supports the creation and maintenance of production cost models used for quoting.
• Supports the development of \"standard work processes\".
• Supports Business Development initiatives.
• May lead and direct the work of others, as requested.

General requirements :

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (or equivalent years of experience).
• Detailed knowledge of Industry and Military standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to electronics and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate contractual requirements.
• Extensive working knowledge of PC's. Includes excellent skills with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), Adobe and other software as needed.

Technical requirements :
• A minimum of six (6) years experience in a combination of the following disciplines:
---- Hands-On Complex Electronics Assembly/Technician/Production
---- High-Mix/Low-Volume Electromechanical Manufacturing
---- Production Supervisor (within a related industry)
---- Government (DoD) Contracts, Subcontracts and Proposals
Candidates should have some experinence with :
