Junior .NET Developer
About the Job
You are an enthusiastic self starter who enjoys working with a team and would like to be involved with a company that continues to grow. You have excellent .Net skills and experience and can write software design specifications and design the application data model, etc. You have an understanding of the software development life cycle and are experienced in the natural resource sector.
We Are Resource Energy Solutions Inc. a Calgary-based company providing innovative software and data management solutions to the Oil & Gas and Mining industries and we are looking for enthusiastic, energetic, additions to our development team. We have a great team of individuals and are looking for that perfect person to join us as we grow into bigger and better things.
Primary Responsibilities:
You will work with our business analysts, customer support, and development teams to develop Wellman, our leading-edge well reporting and data management software
You will be creating new WPF forms and reports according to specifications and making modifications to existing reports, writing unit tests, writing SQL queries, and documenting code changes
You will follow rigorous standards for code quality and maintainability
Working environment is a very dynamic, fast-paced environment in which all team members demonstrate adaptability, initiative, resourcefulness, and adeptness
Successful candidate will exhibit natural leadership and problem resolution instincts, commitment, and willingness to accept ownership
Requirements:
Post secondary degree in computer science or engineering
Must be fluent in English (oral and written)
Experience with C# and .NET, including WPF and WCF
Experience with SQL, including SQL Server and Oracle
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
Strong documentation skills
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
Proficient in Windows XP/Vista/7 and Microsoft Office
General understanding of computer hardware and basic networking
Experience in oil and gas industry an asset
Ability to touch type
