Research and Development Project Engineer

Research and Development Project Engineer

Reporting to the R&D Manager, the R&D Project Engineer will be required to participate in Product Development and Cost Reduction projects, primarily for inductive instrument transformers.

Duties & Responsibilities

-Research and development of new products
-Electric field Analysis and optimization using Electro and Coulomb software
-Identification and resolution of design problems and issues
-Working with suppliers to optimize component designs and costs
-Electrical Engineering Calculations
-Research and testing of new materials and technologies
-Formal and informal report writing
-Verbal reporting and presentations
-Ensuring compliance with customers and international Standards
-Managing time and workload effectively
-Responding to requests and cooperating with all departments
-Monitoring and reporting on project costs and progress, ensuring that they are on schedule and within budget
-Defining and performing electrical test programs
-Expediting prototype manufacturing and testing

Qualifications:
-University degree in Electrical Engineering - Power option
-Competence in Project planning and management
-Good understanding of high voltage insulation and electric fields
-Familiarity with Substation equipment, particularly Instrument Transformers
-Inventive and Innovative capabilities
-Good communication and report-writing skills
-Good organizational skills including management of priorities and multiple tasks
-Must be a effective in a Team environment
