APAC, one of the largest highway construction contractors in the United States, is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our Gulf Coast Division. This position will be based in Dothan, AL.
As a Project Manager, you will have responsibility for the safe and timely completion of a large scale highway construction project. You will manage all aspects of the project including: operations, project staff, subcontractors, client and public relations and safety.
I.. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must interact and maintain communications between APAC, Inc. and the owner or owners representative.
Know at any given time the status and cost of the various operations on your projects(s).
Supervise and approve the paperwork flow (i.e. timesheets, daily reports, tickets, etc.)
II. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in any way possible within your capacity to prosecute the work on the project (s).
Maintain communication with the shop concerning equipment maintenance and repairs.
Establish a long term plan for each project to allow taking advantage of equipment availability and to mesh with other ongoing projects company wide.
Maintain a constant up to date balance on all quantities for your projects and be sure the owners representative agrees with you.
III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
BS in Civil Eng and 6 yrs exp (including DOT) preferred, but not mandatory. We will consider candidates with a good mix of education and field experience. Responsibilities include coordination of work with sub-contractors, risk assessment/management, approve project payment requests and billing. Must have a good understanding of cost.
To qualify for this position, you must have:
* Must have a demonstrated commitment to safety
* Extensive knowledge of and experience in road construction.
* Good communication skills and the ability to motivate personnel with the desire to achieve the results expected
* Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering
* 8-10 years of highway construction experience (Min 6 years working DOT projects)
* Must have a good understanding of cost.
* Responsibilities include coordination of work with sub-contractors, risk assessment/management, approve project payment requests and billing.
* Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States
