Payroll Administrator

Main Event Entertainment is experiencing unprecedented growth and is looking for a Payroll Administrator. Main Event Entertainment operates family entertainment centers throughout Texas. Our centers feature restaurants, bars, bowling, billiards, video and arcade games, shuffleboard, laser tag, glow golf, meeting facilities and most of all, FUN!

 

SUMMARY:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of payroll, including recordkeeping and reporting. This position works under the direct supervision of the Controller and indirect supervision of the Director of Human Resources.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Processes weekly payroll for Main Event Entertainment employees, including hourly and salaried employeesEnters time records electronically and verifies all entriesCalculates and processes retro pay and overtime adjustmentsUpdates and adjusts employee records including pay increases, direct deposit information, transfers, promotions, changes in employment status, address changes, W-4 changes, wage garnishments, deductions, etc.Researches payroll discrepancies and makes necessary adjustmentsDistributes paychecks and manages direct deposit proceduresProcesses stop pays, reversals, voids and manual adjustments as neededAssists employees and managers with questions, concerns or issues regarding payrollResponsible for quarterly Federal Tax filingsResponsible for new hire reporting to State agenciesVerifies employmentResponsible for creating and analyzing payroll reports as neededDevelops, maintains, and distributes reports and queries using provided reporting tools, and conducts appropriate audits to ensure data integrityIdentifies and suggests process improvementsProvides support to Controller in all payroll-related functions

 

REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 5 years of experience with primary responsibility for payroll administration and in-house payroll processingAdvanced skill level in Excel is requiredGreat Plains experience preferredKnowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principlesKnowledge of current state and federal wage and labor laws relating to key areas of responsibilityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOutstanding customer service skillsProven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environmentMust be able to maintain high levels of confidentiality Genuine team spirit and flexible attitudeAbility meet attendance requirements and to work overtime when necessary
