PC Support Specialist
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a client service driven individual to provide support for corporate hardware and software. If you enjoy going above and beyond to satisfy clients, while working in a team environment – then this position is for you!
PC Support Specialists spend a significant amount of time providing the highest level of technical support to associates of Baird. The ideal candidate will support new builds, installations, upgrades, break-fix troubleshooting, remote access, and other special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research, respond, resolve, and document issues in timely manner as defined in the Information Technology Service Level Agreement.
2. Implement hardware and software upgrades. Coordinate and install hardware components including, but not limited to: PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, PDAs, and other peripherals.
3. Work quickly, efficiently, and professionally under pressure with a focus on problem solving and high quality service.
4. Acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and firm support guidelines in order to provide accurate solutions to clients.
5. Participate in the team philosophy of continuous process evaluation and improvement.
6. Participate in an on-call rotation for 24 x 7 support of critical business units.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree a plus. Two-year Associate degree or equivalent work experience required. Three years of PC hardware/software support in the Microsoft Windows environment.
2. Must be with proficient in Windows XP, Office 2003, Internet Explorer, and other common Microsoft applications. Experience supporting Blackberries in an enterprise environment.
3. Ideal candidates are familiar with Windows Vista Business/ Enterprise and Microsoft Office 2007. The candidate should be familiar with the Active Directory architecture.
4. A working knowledge of standard wired and wireless networking concepts and protocols.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills – ability to effectively communicate with other associates and vendors in order to accomplish work responsibilities and objectives. Must be able to communicate effectively with teammates and clients in understandable terms.
6. Excellent problem solving skills – able to troubleshoot issues independently, especially when encountering unique technical challenges. Seeks to implement client-friendly and creative solutions when required.
7. Superior organizational and time management skills – ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks for a variety of time lines including our SLA and special projects.
