Position Description:
Position OverviewJohnsonville Sausage has a commitment to become the best company ever established, offering the highest quality products throughout the U.S. and international markets. As a Business Manager on our retail sales team, you’ll be able to impact the success of the sales team through leadership and management of the Michigan & Ohio Market. This would include the management of our broker network and the responsibility for customers such as Meijer, Spartan, Kroger, Nash Finch and Super Valu.Why this is a great job for a person who accepts nothing less than personal greatness. You get to:• Create success for your customers and the Michigan & Ohio markets within the Central Region team.• Develop and build relationships throughout the organizations, including but not limited to Category Managers, Buyers, and Executives at all levels• Create innovative programs and promotions• Run your own marketplace• Gain, solidify, and maintain distribution across all Johnsonville categories• Develop and manage Broker relationships• Strategic planning which results in market share growthQualifications:What You Bring To The Job:• Experience building new and existing relationships with key customers, including those above the buyer level• 5-10 years consumer packaged goods sales experience required; direct experience in food sales is a definite plus• Bachelor’s degree required• Proven record of substantially building a business• Superior strategic and tactical business planning skills• Excellent communication skills including negotiation and presentation skills• Proficiency in computer technologies (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Lotus Notes)• Experience with syndicated data (A.C. Nielsen, Nitro)• Experience with micro-marketing or other Marketing background a real plus• Team skills--ability to work with, share ideas, and assist other members to ensure the success of the team• Broker Management and/or Broker experienceLocation: Michigan or Ohio (Grand Rapids, Detroit or Columbus)Travel: Between 25-50%
