Combat Systems (Electronics) Planning Support (AIM Planner) (008051:DODD)

This position will be at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, and the task will be to prepare and review Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) planning and technical work documents (TWD's) in support of shipboard Combat Systems (Electronics) maintenance and problem resolution. This work will be accomplished during PHNSY & IMF submarine availabilities. The length of the employment will be determined by PHNSY & IMF. The duties for this position will include developing TWD's in support of shipboard Combat Systems (Electronics) maintenance and repairs as follows:

1. Technical Work Documents (TWD) shall be developed/modified using the Government's AIM computer program and other Navy data systems including:
a. Material research and ordering.
b. Preparing Quality Assurance (QA) documents.
c. Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) & Ship's Drawing
Index (SDI) drawing research.
d. Compiling Allowance Parts Lists (APL).
e. Reviewing Submarine Maintenance Standards (SMS).
f. Completing Unrestricted Operations/Maintenance Requirement
Cards (URO/MRC).
2. Provide technical advice and information to C/290 Division, Shop, Ship or other Shipyard personnel. As required, seek and exchange technical information with off-station activities.
3. Must have Engineering Technician background with administrative and/or supervisory experience on ships related to operation of Submarine Electronic Systems, and must have experience in several of the following systems: Radio, Radar, IFF, waveguide ESM/ECM, Navigation, Sonar, Towed Array Systems (control and system signals), Fire Control, Ships LANs, Electrical Hull Fittings, electric plant standard installation methods, SUBSAFE requirements, and safety tag out requirements.

- Travel and Per Diem may be authorized. (M)

Required Skills

- Must have experience using Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) to
develop TWD's.
- Must have detail knowledge of work within the SUBSAFE boundary.


Desired Skills

- Experience as a Naval Shipyard Combat Systems Test Engineer.
- A Navy leader with experience in SSN 688 Class Submarine TM, FT or ST technical fields.


Education

Requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

Experience

8-10 years of related experience.

Requirements

Ability to enter and tour Navy submersibles and to wear Personal Protective Equipment for industrial environments.

Hazards

- Hazards normally associated with naval shipyard work, primarily in
a shipboard environment subject to exposure to fumes, dust, noise,
heat, cold, and chemical agents.
- Will be required to provide their own Personal Protection
Equipment (Steel Toed Boots, Safety Glass, and Hard Hat).
