Audition Script for the EZVOICE Voice Sample Line

To try out for our voice recording position, we’d like you to call our voice sample line and read our script. We need someone who sounds warm and conversational, and is easy to understand with no noticeable regional accent. We need you to sound like a real, caring person, not an advertisement.

Familiarize yourself with the script before calling so you’re ready to record. You’ll get a few more directions during the call itself, including how to redo a line if you’re not happy with it. If possible, please call in using a land line, as cell phone quality can sometimes be distracting.

Dial 1-866-945-1512

Name and contact information

1. Please give us your name, spelling anything that may be difficult.

2. Now please give us a good phone number to reach you.

3. Now give us an email address, if you use one.

4. Please give us your mailing address.

Work experience

5. Please tell us briefly about your healthcare experience, but really you can use this opportunity to talk about any work experience.

At each numbered prompt, record the corresponding sentence, trying to sound as natural as possible.

6. There are several medications available that can help to lower your cholesterol level. Statins are one class of these medications. Some commonly-prescribed statins include: Atorvastatin, Fluvastatin, Rosuvastatin, Lovastatin, and Pravastatin.

7. Once you’ve selected your doctor, we have a special phone number available for you to call and make your doctor’s appointments. For people with inflexible work schedules, some of our doctors do offer evening and weekend appointments. These providers are noted in the plan brochure with an asterisk.

8. Seasonal allergies are nothing to sneeze at. Many of our patients don’t realize that they can buy highly effective over-the-counter remedies for less than their prescription drug co-pay.

9. Well, you might want to think about cutting down on the sugary drinks and replacing some of them with water. At the tone, please tell me how many glasses of water you drink each day.

10. The American Diabetes Association agrees with us: knowing what to eat can be confusing. Everywhere you turn, there is news about what is or isn't good for you. And remember that eating too much of even healthful foods can lead to weight gain, so watch your portion sizes.

11. We recognize that you may not be ready to quit smoking today, but we really hope you’ll think about it, especially if you have children or adolescents in your home. Tragically, each day more than 1,000 kids become regular, daily smokers and half will eventually die as a result of their addiction.

12. The most serious allergic reaction to penicillin is an anaphylactic response, which can be deadly. Anaphylactic reactions develop immediately after penicillin exposure in highly sensitive people and cause the airways (bronchi) to constrict, making it difficult to breathe. Additional allergy information is available by calling 1-888-372-2121.

13. There are four key areas in an engine where energy loss occurs—the valve train, the piston and cylinder, the oil pump, and the crankshaft. Our synthetic base stock composition ensures low traction—also called internal fluid friction—to further contribute to improved engine efficiency.

14. The birth of a baby can trigger a jumble of powerful emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. But it can also result in something you might not expect — depression. Experiencing depression after childbirth isn't a character flaw or a weakness.

15. Goats may be purchased for a variety of reasons. Some breeds make great companions and pets while others provide excellent meat and milk. Whatever your individual reason is for purchasing these extraordinary animals, you do need to know how to take care of them.

[Note: the phone line will say that names begin at 16, but there is text for 16 and the names start at 17.]

16. And as Dr. Seuss said in Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, “You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.”

Read these names, giving it your best shot at an understandable American pronunciation

17. Abdul Custard and Concepcion Echevarria

18. Dominica Marquezgarcia and Elena Wojciechowski

19. Precious Jolicoeur and Nigel Kiss

Anything else

20. Please tell us anything else you’d like us to know.
