Sr. Product Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage MSB’s Next Generation Claims product to ensure it meets client business requirements while supporting the MSB business strategy, growth targets, and meets defined budgets, delivery dates, and quality levels. Coordinate scheduling of all product deliverables (as embodied in Release Plans) when release synchronization is needed between products, or when development resources may be shared between products. Oversee the coordination of all product-related internal documentation and go-to-market preparation. This position reports to the Director Product Management.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS and ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Create and then educate all business parties on measurable value proposition associated with products/projects
• To act as a key interface to the business for assigned products by working closely with customers, prospects, business development, marketing, engineering, sales and senior management through the entire product lifecycle.
• Exhibit working knowledge and understanding of P/C value chain in dealings with clients, coworkers, and when creating requirements and direction of products
• Carefully manage project plans, budget, and scope by release, craft and deliver difficult messages regarding scope and delivery strategy
• Lead client validation / walkthrough sessions and document client specific feedback; aggregate information into product requirements generally applicable to common industry workflow
• Review all project deliverables for accuracy and quality and signs-off
• Develop product roadmaps and migration strategies; prioritize features into releases and make final decisions about release scope, patches and bug fixes relative to budget and market/business need.
• Solve complex issues to achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects in a complex, fast moving environment
• Establish business case justification for product / projects; tracks actual vs. expected financial performance of product/projects
• Create / oversee development of marketing collateral for products, conduct organizational training for new product releases
• Lead weekly team status meetings to ensure projects are on track
• Address product escalations from the Help Desk and Account Managers in troubleshooting issues
• Participate in client meetings to assist in sales cycle and rollout efforts
• 20%-25% travel required
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of common business processes within the property and casualty industry (i.e. claims, underwriting, loss control); Uses appropriate terminology and concepts in daily tasks.
• Demonstrated top-notch client relationship and management skills
• 5+ years experience as a software product manager, software application manager, senior business analyst and/or systems integration specialist for software applications
• 3+ years working knowledge of System and Architecture: n-tier web based solutions, Pc/laptops/workstations, client and server networks, internets, intranets, extranets, browsers and mainframes
• 3+ years formal Project Management and implementation experience for projects exceeding $5M in budget
• 3+ years working knowledge of all Microsoft applications
• Staff management experience a plus
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, excellent problem solving skills
• Collaborative communication style and a proactive, positive disposition
• Excellent verbal written and presentation skills.
