The Attorney classification is represented by the Wisconsin State Attorneys Association and is assigned to Pay Schedule/Pay Range 09-75. Starting salary will be between $47,036 and $82,791 (based on a full-time rate) annually, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
Job Duties: Conduct administrative hearings on behalf of the Division for the Departments of Correction, Health and Family Services, Workforce Development, Justice, Natural Resources, and any other agencies requesting administrative law judge services. Rule on admissibility of evidence, objections and motions; apply appropriate administrative rules, statutes and case law; analyze evidence and apply rules and statutes to the facts; draft decisions and order. Hold varied administrative hearings including adult probation and parole revocation hearings, juvenile aftercare revocation hearings, public assistance, W-2 hearings and health and social services.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Well qualified candidates will demonstrate superior skills with administrative law; legal research methods; application of laws; statutes and administrative rules; evidence analysis; application of rules and statutes to the facts; and legal decision writing.
Special Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin upon appointment.

As a framework for discussion, assume you must decide whether a written police report containing the report of a domestic abuse victim is admissible and sufficient to prove a probation violation without personal testimony from the victim. The paper should discuss all relevant considerations surrounding the admissibility and use of the police report and should cite appropriate statutes, administrative rules and case law.
