Product Support Specialist (1000889)

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Owns the process of analyzing and uploading cost and sell price information in MSC's AS400 ensuring our sales organization has real time accurate data. Analyzes supplier performance via 'report cards' generated by MSC's STARS system. Assists product managers in identifying operational improvement areas for target suppliers. Responsible for developing cross-reference databases in an effort to provide sales team guidance when converting competitor's products to MSC. Develops competitive price comparisons on target competitors to be used by product manager in developing a catalog or specialty brochure sell price strategy. Investigates SKU development opportunities based upon competitor line review. Provide Product and or Merchandise manager findings enabling them to prioritize catalog development opportunities by areas of biggest dollar. Responsible for, under guidance of Product or Merchandising manager, the catalog correction process ensuring timely and accurate processing of catalog corrections. Provides coordination and administrative support to Product Managers and Merchandising Managers in order to achieve maximum product line expansion and innovation. Prepare catalog ads and modules in support of new item induction ensuring data and text is accurate Applies sell prices in line with business strategy into catalog modules. Helps support Product or Merchandise Manager maintain accurate data within AS400 and e-commerce platform. Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of vision and fulfillment of MSC's Mission. Coordinates and prepares for supplier meeting including scheduling conference rooms and ensuring availability of relevant data and materials. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or the equivalent is required. Associate's degree of the equivalent experience is preferred. One year of business experience is preferred.

SKILLS:

Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Proficiency in Access is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Good organizational and time management skills are required.
