ASP .Net, C#. WCI Portal Developer
Our Chandler, Arizona client seeks an ASP.Net, C#, WCI Portal Developer position. This position is primarily responsible for designing and implementing Portal Platform. Responsibilities will include defining and contributing to architecture, software and hardware design, implementation and delivery of portal based functionality and content. Other responsibilities may include portlet project oversight through the entire software development lifecycle, interfacing with other IT teams and business units.
Key Job Elements
Develop and implement mission critical applications within the realm of the student, faculty, and staff MyCampus Portal environment.
Provide business critical solutions with portal technology, as well as develop portlets and web services to integrate applications within the portal.
Maintain all content administration functions, as well as portal administration, with Oracles WCI (formerly BEA's AquaLogic) Portal Platform, including Crawlers, Jobs, Web Services, Portlets, Publisher, Analytics and Unified Content Management (UCM) in the development, test and production environments.
Mentor and cross train other developers to enhance and modify legacy applications to best work within the portal environment.
Work with business customers to translate functional requirements into technical designs.
Work across the organization partnering with other technical teams in support of portal initiatives.
Some travel is required.
Required Skills/Experience
B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering.
Ideally at least 2 years of in-depth technical working experiencing with the Oracle Web Center or WCI Portal Platform (formerly BEA AquaLogic).
Strong experience in object oriented design and analysis.
Experience with C#, ASP.net, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, IIS, Web Services, XML and SQL required.
Experience integrating packaged solutions in a portal environment and knowledge of IIS, .NET framework (2.0 or later) and Major Web Browsers (IE, FireFox, Opera and Safari) is required.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle using Microsoft technologies, Agile / XP and Design Patterns, required.
Experience developing software solutions with large scale, structured enterprises.
Proven knowledge of enterprise scale software development best practices.
Demonstrate QA skills and attention to detail required.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to learn new technical skills required.
Strong written and communication skills along with abilities to perform thorough analysis (with a strong emphasis on critical thinking abilities).
Highly motivated, accountable, results driven with strong work ethics.
Proven ability to work independently, to take ownership of the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
