Development Assistant
The Development Assistant provides administrative support in the areas of general membership (gifts to $999) and Patron membership ($1,000 to $7,500) Flexibility, initiative, accuracy and motivation are required to handle a diverse range of responsibilities including data entry and data base maintenance, report and record management, correspondence, internet and email projects, customer service, event support, communications, travel program matters, and general clerical assistance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist in executing new, renewal and upgrade appeals to ensure timely and accurate mailings and solicitations. Includes merging and personalizing letters, updating promotional materials and solicitation letters, preparing packets of promotional materials, assisting in gift acknowledgments.
· Computer data entry and gift transmittal: process gifts made by check, securities, internet and credit cards using Raiser’s Edge database
· Customer service: Respond to phone, email, and written inquiries, requests from donors and the public in a timely, gracious and effective manner
· Benefit fulfillment and stewardship: Manage distribution of catalogues, calendars and other donor incentives
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
· Monitor gifts of securities
· Assist with cultivation events.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Demonstrated literacy in MS Office Suite; proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software desired
Previous experience working in an office environment
Excellent facility with numbers, proof reading, attention to detail and deadlines
Highly organized, able to prioritize and work independently
Willingness and ability to spend evenings at development events and work overtime hours as required
Flexible, outgoing personality and team player.
