Description
Works closely with the Director, Human Resources (and Corporate HR team) to support the strategic initiatives of the Milwaukee Consumer Marketing Group. Responsible for anticipating and responding to day-to-day general HR needs of individual employees and providing counsel to management in the areas of employee relations, performance management, people development, organizational planning and development, talent management, succession planning, compensation, rewards & recognition, retention, and training.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide assistance to clients concerning human resources-related services, programs, issues, support and tools; communicate basic HR policies and procedures as necessary to ensure consistent practices. Assist managers in developing skills to manage human resources more effectively through coaching, instruction and training. With clients and Director, HR, identify opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness (i.e., increased management competence, change agent, teamwork, communication, career development, etc.) Provide assistance in expediting HR processes and infrastructure for clients. Collaborate with the Client group and Talent Partners, to determine sources for recruitment and as necessary assess/recommend candidates. Facilitate collaborative problem solving strategies to resolve employee relations' issues through effective communication with all levels of employees. Assist with investigations of complaints, and reviews and approvals for disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary. Assist with the review and tracking of salary transactions. Help to provide guidance related to salary planning/compensation, promotions, job classifications, and internal benchmarking information. Liaise with Compensation Partners to assist with job leveling, benchmarking and other compensation analyses when necessary. Support other HR related activities as required, including exit interviews, training, coaching in performance management and appraisal, and facilitating solutions and action plans from employee survey process. Participate in a wide range of projects as assigned by the Director, Human Resources. Serve as contact person for clients when senior team members are unavailable, escalating issues to senior staff as necessary. Demonstrate conceptual thinking and relieve senior team members of the day-to-day demands, providing proactive support and keeping them informed of issues as necessary. Ability to help interpret applicable state and federal policies, procedures, regulations and guidelines. Participate in a wide range of projects as assigned by the HR Director/Department. Develop effective relationships across the company and with a wide variety of partners. Required Skills
Command of human resources concepts, practices, methods, policies, practices and procedures. Resourceful, proactive, energetic, and self-motivated. A strong customer service orientation with consistent sensibility for urgency. Must be able to use good judgment to set and adjust priorities and maintain effective follow-up systems to accommodate a busy workload and meet scheduled deadlines. Attention to detail and the willingness to go above and beyond. Highly organized; ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks at one time - particularly among multiple work sites, clients, and partners. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts. Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with tact and discretion. Strong team player with willingness to be involved with a diversified range of projects.Exceptional computer skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiarity with HR Oracle Systems.
