Merrill is currently seeking an experienced Proofreader (3rd shift) for our Toronto location.​ Please note that this shift can be adjusted with notice in order to accommodate business requirements.​



Responsibilities:

· Read typescript or proof of type setup to detect any grammatical, typographical or compositional errors in both English and French.​

· Mark by standardized code and check corrected proofs.​

· Check accuracy of dimensions, spacing, and positioning of copy and illustrations.​

· Work with a web-based job management system.​

· Communicate with other sites/​departments via web-based applications.​



Skills/​Experience:

· High school diploma.​

· Minimum 3 years related work experience.​

· Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity.​

· Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality and ingenuity.​

· May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.​

· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks and goals.​

· Applies advanced skills to the position.​

· Adapts procedures, processes and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.​

· Works under general supervision.​

· May be designated as the lead worker.​

· Knowledge of PostScript coding would be an asset.​
