Alsco, Inc. is presently seeking a Chief Engineer for our Alexandria, Virginia Linen Plant. Alsco has been in the textile rental business for over 100 years and is an industry leader. The Chief Engineer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment and property. The Chief Engineer supervises the plant's engineering staff, and consults with production, sales, and service management to ensure the smooth operation of the plant. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the morning start-up and evening shutdown of equipment, including the boiler, air compressor, power, pumps, and valves. A high school diploma is required, supplemented by advanced engineering training. The position requires detail knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, welding, and boiler applications. The position requires standing, moving, pulling, and pushing.
