Restaurant General Manager

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for day-to-day management of the restaurant. Responsible for teaching, training, and leading Managers and Team Members to maintain the Company’s Brand Standards, present a professional image at all times, coach, counsel, and develop Managers and Team Members, maximize sales and profitability, control expenses, meet budgetary constraints, handle Guest complaints, and ensure sanitation, safety and food quality. Contributes to the overall success and profitability of the company and delivers on the Company’s Brand Promises.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure each Guest receives excellent service by providing an environment which includes maintaining the Brand Standards, solid knowledge of the menu, and all other components of Gracious Hospitality.

• Recruit, train, develop, and communicate through consistent daily line-ups and weekly meetings with all Managers and Team Members.

• Reinforce skills learned with Team Members and leadership behaviors with Managers.

• Identify strategies to retain the best Team Members.

• Control inventory levels and report all concerns to the DPSR.

• Develop and assign daily goals and tasks and assure completion through consistent follow-up.

• Monitor sales performance to ensure proper scheduling, staffing and develop strategies to meet sales goals.

• Adhere to company policies and procedures.

• Control funds, media, bank deposits, receiving, inventory, and payroll.

• Ensure all equipment is in good repair.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience:

• High school diploma or high school equivalency

• Two to three years management experience supervising multiple employees in casual dining or a related

restaurant industry.

Computer Skills:

• Computer skills required include a basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

e-mail applications.

• Ability to use and direct others using a POS (MICROS) system.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate with Team Members and Guests.

• Walk and stand during the entire day.

• Reach, bend, stoop, walk, lift and carry items up to 50lbs. repeatedly during a day.

• Position requires basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide; to interpret fractions into percentages, to count and record data accurately; to use a calculator; to count money and

make change.

• Position requires excellent communication skills and requires reading and writing.

• Ability to tolerate significant changes in temperature.

• Must be able to carry plates of food from kitchen to dining room as much as needed.

• Must be able to tolerate frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions.

• Must be able to tolerate frequent immersion of hands into freezer and handling frozen items.

Work Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is elevated. The work place is generally fast and high volume of work

is expected.
