JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION
The Buyer / Expeditor is in a highly visible capacity of executing key stock replenishment and open order management processes and programs to deliver industry-leading procurement service for WESCO and its customers. The scope of this position encompasses supporting the day-to-day procurement needs of a particular group of branch locations serving industrial and commercial construction-based customers with electrical products. The proper candidate will support inventory replenishment, special order purchases, open order management, expediting, product cost reduction efforts, and transportation optimization.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage procurement and replenishment of all products for multiple branch locations in a given area
• Maintain timely and accurate order acknowledgments and supplier promise dates
• Review and take action daily on critical need items for assigned responsibilities
• Meet and exceed defined stock availability and fill rate goals for assigned responsibilities
• Maintain branch purchasing, inventory and supplier files
• Expedite/follow up on open purchase orders to suppliers within assigned branches and categories to maximize stock availability and ensure timely delivery of product
• Support maximizing the utilization of WESCO’s Distribution Centers
• Support field branch management, Supplier Relations, and corporate purchasing on purchasing and inventory needs
• Develop, maintain, publish and oversee the tracking of supplier performance KPI’s and partner with suppliers to improve performance
• Proactively be engaged with suppliers to negotiate and resolve performance issues that may impact costs, customer service, or inventory
• Negotiate and execute one-time and large “Spot” buys to optimize cost and service
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing and Supplier Relations to identify, build, support and grow strategic supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with standard policies, procedures, internal audit, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and quality management processes

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
• Highly proficient skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Access, pivot tables, and data look-ups
• Strong analytic / mathematics skills with the ability to work with and interpret large sets of data, draw sound conclusions, and develop and execute appropriate actions
• Supply chain fundamentals and knowledge of supply chain methodologies and practices
• Interest in customer service and demonstrated ability to think from a customer’s perspective
• Bias for change with a demonstrated willingness to challenge the norm
• Ability to effectively apply LEAN thinking principles
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a supply chain support capacity through either a full-time, contract or internship position
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience preferred in a logistics, inventory management, or purchasing support role in an industrial, construction, MRO, or distribution service setting
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a supply chain discipline
• Desire to obtain CPIM, CSCP or equivalent
